Organize the play area sensibly
Many parents know this situation: toys in every corner, and new things constantly arrive through gifts or small purchases. Over time, lots of toys tend to gather in the children's room. Even with regular tidying, the mess always seems one step ahead. A bit of order and clarity in the play area helps not only you but also your child. Still, it’s important to understand that a little chaos is simply part of childhood. When children spend several days building something or getting lost in an imaginary world, their creativity grows. If everything is tidied up every evening, they lose the chance to continue playing the next day. Eventually, they lose interest in their own play, and with it a part of their childlike creativity. Tidying up together once a week is enough. The rest of the time belongs to free play. Open shelving works especially well for preschool children. It helps keep blocks, animals, figures, puzzles, balls, and vehicles neatly stored in separate boxes. As a result, cleaning up becomes easier, and children gradually learn to stay organized. Fewer things mean less mess and less stress. Too many toys often overwhelm children and don’t necessarily boost creativity. Just a few meaningful toys are enough for children to thrive. It’s often no different for us adults: the more we own, the harder it is to stay organized.
